With London the host city of the ATP finals this week, who will be the man to beat favourite Novak Djokovic? Having warmed up for the London tournament at the O2 by winning at the weekend in Paris, the Serbian has hopes of finishing the year as world number one, with his victory in the Paris Masters over David Ferrer.
Djokovic realises that it isn’t just down to him, but also on Rafael Nadal and the confidence he has gained from that victory puts him in a good position to achieve his goal.
Sky Bet offer the best price for Djokovic to claim victory this week at the O2, with a price of 6/5 being offered. He won’t however be the only player entering this competition full of confidence, and Roger Federer claims he also has high hopes of victory in London.
The man from Switzerland only secured his finals place last week, and he has never ranked lower coming into the tournament. He hasn’t endured the the best of seasons, and will find this tournament hard going, coming up against Juan Martin del Potro, Richard Gasquet and favourite Djokovic.
Despite this, federer is 10/1 with Paddy Power to emerge victorious at the O2, and he did indeed come close in Paris, just missing out on the top spot with a narrow defeat by Djokovic in the semi-finals.
His great rival Rafael Nadal has a somewhat easier task, with a much more favourable group, although he has so far failed to win this title. He has made his ambitions clear however, and thinks he can break this particular duck. The Spaniard is a respectable 3/1 to win in London, while the Argentinian Del Potro is 8/1 which reflects the commendable season he’s had.
It appears on paper to be a four-horse race , however Tomas Berdych has the potential to reach the semis and even beyond, and is well priced at 28/1, a very tempting offer. Ferrer is another potential finalist and the Spaniard is also well priced at 25/1.
