Ballon D’or Betting Guide

Ribery, Messi and Ronaldo are fighting it out for the Ballon d'or. In reality no-one else has a look in, so who will emerge victorious and win the accolade

It seems Frank Ribery is heading for the 2013 Ballon d’or, as he sees himself installed as firm favourite ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The France and Bayern Munich winger already has the accolade of the UEFA best European player for the year, and Sky Bet consider him worthy of 11/10 to add this crown to his impressive collection.

Bayern Munich had an outrageously outstanding season for 2012/13, and many believe that a Bayern player should win the Ballon d’or. Bayern won the Bundesliga, German FA Cup and of course the Champions League.

Lionel Messi has succeeded in winning all three of the gongs since it was rebranded in 2010 as the Ballon d’or, and he is still in with a chance of winning it a fourth time, with Bet365 offering a best price of 7/4.

The Argentinian is considered by most as the best player in the world, with his reputation possibly proving to be enough to secure enough votes for him.

The only other realistic contender is Ronaldo. He has had to content himself with runner-up position for the last two years, and again Bet365 offer the best price of 7/2. His team failed to add anything to their trophy cabinet last season, and it looks possible that he may lose out yet again.

Gareth Bale appears in the betting, however the Welshman has little chance in reality of claiming the prize, this being reflected in the best price of 66/1 at BetVictor.
