Champions league at William Hill

Another evening of top-class Champions league action sees both Manchester teams in action. Will it be a red or sky blue evening

Wednesday night sees more Champions League action, and William Hill are at the forefront of the action as usual, with some unbeatable prices.

The games don’t come much bigger than Manchester United v Real Sociedad. The Red Devils are struggling on all fronts and they need to find their feet tonight. A Manchester derby thrashing and a surprise defeat against West Bromwich Albion highlights some of the problems facing Moyes. The Spaniards will arrive in town with heightened confidence, and United need to get in front quickly. William Hill have United as favourites at 1/2, largely down to the fact that Sociedad have lost both opening games in their Champions League campaign. A price of 6/1 that the Spaniards can spoil things at Old trafford and return home with three points in the bag is a tempting price. A draw is a likely scenario, with William Hill again proving to be the most generous, offering 10/3. Robin Van Persie is adept at breaking the deadlock, and should he succeed in opening the scoring you can grab yourself 11/4.

The sky blue part of Manchester is on its travels as City head to Russia for an encounter with CSKA Moscow. City were humbled three weeks ago by Bayern Munich, but go to the Petrovsky stadium as favourites, with William Hill offering 4/6 for a City victory. Sergio Aguero is finally starting to move into top gear, and the Argentine should prove a popular bet to open the scoring at 9/2 should Pellegrini choose him instead of Jovetic or Dzeko. Most of City’s forwards are similarly priced to score first in this encounter, however William Hill are offering an amazing 8/1 for Yaya Toure to break the deadlock in Moscow. Manchester City have failed on two occasions to progress beyond the group stages with Mancini, however CSKA are struggling on all fronts at the moment so this should, at least on paper, be a relatively easy one to call, and the odds of 4/1 for a CSKA victory reflect this view.

Over in Spain, Juventus are visitors to the cauldron that is the Bernabeu. They have won their last three Champions League games against Real Madrid, however their only Bernabeu victory was way back in 2008, and the Spanish giants are unbeaten in 13 games on their home turf. Ronaldo will be aiming to stay at the top of the goal-scorer leader board, and William Hill offer 4/5 that Ronaldo will score and Real Madrid win. A win for the home side is 8/13, very reasonable considering their form of late, whilst a Juventus win is a very generous 9/2.
