Manchester City were lucky to escape from White Hart Lane with a goalless draw last August, although Roberto Mancini’s team are now a different prospect, with Tottenham unable to live with them on Sunday afternoon.

Edin Dzeko was the master marksman as City won by a comfortable 5-1 scoreline, with the Bosnian scoring four times to demonstrate the credentials that saw the club shell out approximately £30 million for his signature last January.

Samir Nasri enjoyed a debut to remember by creating several of the goals, while Sergio Aguero was the other player on the scoresheet. However, it was Dzeko who was left with the match ball at the final whistle and the forward insists that the best is yet to come.

“I think the last time I scored four was for Wolfsburg in Germany,” the Bosnia-Herzegovina international told ESPN.

“Today was something special for me, to score four goals in the Premier League is fantastic.

“I think we’re getting better and better. I hope we can improve in the next game and try to win every game.”
