After a 4-0 drubbing by England in the Test version of the game, India have a chance to show their mettle in the Twenty20 and ODI formats, with the only T20 match taking place at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
The good news for the tourists is that they have won all three of their warm-up matches ahead of their trip to Manchester, having beaten Leicestershire by 15 runs and there were some impressive performances with Parthiv Patel and Rahul Dravid both wielding the bat very well.
India can be backed at 11/10 (bet365 – £200 free bets) to win this match against an England side that features many members of the Test squad and that includes Kevin Pietersen, who will be looking to make an impact before sitting out the upcoming One Day Internationals.
Unsurprisingly, KP is 7/2 (Ladbrokes – £50 free betting) to score the most runs for the home side, with Craig Kieswetter available at 4/1 and Eoin Morgan on offer at 6/1, fresh from captaining the ODI team to victory in his native Ireland.
England look pretty backable at 4/5 considering that Stuart Broad has been in excellent form with bat and ball all summer, while Steven Finn and Tim Bresnan will also add bite to the bowling attack.
Sachin Tendulkar will be the prize wicket for the England bowlers and the Little Master is a 3/1 chance (Boylesports) to score the most runs for his team, while Rahul Dravid is probably slightly better value at 9/2 considering how well he has been scoring this summer.
