England and the West Indies renew hostilities at The Oval on Sunday and England are strong favourites to win this second Twenty20 international match after such a convincing victory on Friday.
Graeme Swann’s team won by 10 wickets with a full 28 balls remaining as the Windies could only muster 125 runs and the visitors actually failed to reach the 20 over quota after being bowled out in 19.4 overs.
Having had their fingers burnt, the bookmakers offer a best price 1/4 (Ladbrokes – £50 free bets) that England seal a 2-0 victory and there does seem to be a big gulf between the two sides, with several young English players using the big stage to demonstrate their credentials.
Alex Hales and Craig Kieswetter ensured that no other batsman got a look in on Friday after surpassing the 125 target with five overs to spare and Kieswetter can be backed at 5/2 (Paddy Power – £100 free betting) to score the most runs on Sunday.
The West Indies are 10/3 to level matters at 1-1 although many of their players looked out of their depth at The Oval on Friday, with the middle and tail order collapsing once Charles, Smith and Hyatt’s wicket had been taken.
Ravi Bopara was the hero with the ball for England in the 1st T20 match and he is likely to be a popular selection again, while Samir Patel managed two wickets on Friday and captain Swann also managed to bowl Samuels.
