The three principal races take place at 2:35, 3:10 and 3:45 which are the Gordon Stakes, Lennox Stakes and Molecomb Stakes. All three races are being shown on Channel 4 and that means they form part of bet365’s Channel 4/1 offer which means if you back a winner at 4/1 you will get a free bet on the next race.
2:35 bet365 Gordon Stakes
John Gosden is an in-form trainer and he has a very strong contender in the form of Michaelangelo in this race who is still unexposed and it all comes down to whether this charge can handle the testing Goodwood track. The best price about the three-year-old is 6/4 (William Hill £25 free bet) and comes here off the back of two wins.
Noble Mission runs for Sir Henry Cecil and hasn’t finished outside the first two places in four races this season, while Girolamo is a German raider who finished third last time out in Hamburg and it’s hard to marry that form with the two favourites in the race. America are also represented in the race thanks to Encke.
3:10 bet365 Lennox Stakes
Another seven-runner contest and this one is over seven furlongs, with the eleven-year-old Mac Love the only horse that would cause a shock by winning. Chachamaidee could be the one to beat after proving unfortunate in a second placed finish to Joviality after a slow start at Royal Ascot last month. Odds of 15/8 (Paddy Power bookmaker) could be a spot of value.
Foxtrot Romeo is an 11/2 poke and the Bryan Smart-trained charge managed sixth place in a very competitive St James’ Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot which could prove to be very good form.
Libranno looks to be enjoying his old form after successive wins at Salisbury and Newmarket, with punters likely to be enjoying an each-way wager at odds of 5/1 on this promising four-year-old.
3:45 Molecomb Stakes
This is a tasty Group 3 contest where we will see the true potential of the highly-rated Morawij who has a rating of 117 although a recent win in a listed race at Sandown Park earlier this month got tongues wagging that this could be a special horse.
Roger Varian doesn’t have too many horses although his charge is a 7/4 chance (bet365 £200 free bets) to claim the spoils in this race, while Windsor Castle Stakes winner Hototo should be in the thick of things.
