Leeds United and Cardiff City are two of the biggest clubs in the Championship and both sides also have passionate supporters which explains why this game is a Sunday afternoon early kick-off.
Both teams have had a similar season so far, with Leeds missing out on the chance to go fourth on Wednesday night after a 1-0 defeat at Birmingham, although Simon Grayson’s side do look as though they can claim a play-off position this term.
The bookies make them slight favourites at 13/10 (Ladbrokes – £50 free bets) to claim victory in this match, having won four of their six games at Elland Road this season and scoring plenty of goals as usual.
The departure of Max Gradel doesn’t appear to have hit the Whites too hard, although there could be a few weary legs in the team after that tough match at St Andrews which saw Leeds a little unlucky not to manage an equaliser at the end of the game.
Ross McCormack has been in tremendous scoring form this season and the Scot recently went into double figures with a spectacular effort at Doncaster. He is a 5/1 chance to break the deadlock on Sunday and will be pumped up against his former club.
The Bluebirds are a different side to the one that comfortably won at Elland Road last term, with Jay Bothroyd and Craig Bellamy no longer around to wreak havoc on the home defence.
Even so, Malky Mackay has made a reasonable start at the Welsh club, with Stan James offering 23/10 that the visitors claim their first away win since that opening weekend of the season when they sneaked a 1-0 victory at West Ham.
