After Jordan Henderson arrived for a fee in the region of £20 million, Liverpool supporters have been waiting for more new faces to arrive at Anfield, with the Merseyside club aiming to become a force in the Premier League once again.
However, despite being strongly linked with Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing, no further signings have materialised and supporters are wondering whether the squad will be improved further ahead of a campaign where Liverpool will try to compete on a level playing field with Manchester United and Chelsea.
Jamie Carragher remains relaxed and the club vice-captain is sure that there will be at least two new signings arriving at Anfield before the start of the season.
“It’s still very early and I didn’t expect too much to happen on the transfer front before now,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“Over the summer players, managers, chief executives and owners are all away on holiday.
“It’s only the start of July and with pre-season getting going next week I’m sure things will soon start moving.
“You often find that one deal sets it off and everything happens from there.
“I’m sure it will kick off over the next few weeks and hopefully we’ll get a couple more new faces in”.
