He spent last season on loan at his beloved Cardiff City, although it appears that Craig Bellamy will be featuring for a top Premier League club this coming season with the Welshman flying into Liverpool on Wednesday for talks regarding a potential transfer to Anfield.
Bellamy already has a 12-month stint at Liverpool under his belt, with the striker leaving in 2007 after bagging nine goals in 42 matches and many supporters’ strongest memory is the fracas that the player had with John Arne Riise and a golf club.
Even so, Kenny Dalglish clearly feels that Bellamy can add something to the squad and many supporters will be encouraged that Liverpool are looking to continue strengthening before the transfer window closes.
The Merseyside outfit already have lots of attacking options, with Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll and Dirk Kuyt all capable of playing in advanced positions and Bellamy will surely arrive knowing that he is little more than a squad player.
That said, with Suarez having played in the Copa America during the summer and Carroll not showing great form so far this season, Dalglish must clearly feel that he needs more quality in the squad, especially with David Ngog on the verge of leaving.
