Carlos Tevez has recently stated his desire to leave Manchester City, with the striker citing homesickness as a reason for wanting to leave England and be closer to his family in South America.
It appears that the wheels are now in motion as far as Tevez’s transfer away from Eastlands is concerned, although the Premier League side are still determined to ensure that Tevez isn’t bought on the cheap and news emerged on Tuesday that they have rejected a £35 million bid from Brazilian club Corinthians.
Corinthians are a former club of the player and it is thought that they may have to increase their bid to £50 million in order to secure the services of Tevez.
Tevez is optimistic that a deal can be struck, saying: “An offer arrived [from Corinthians] and I would have no problem returning. They got in contact with me, sent an offer to the club and in eight to 10 days the transfer market in Brazil closes.”
