Since winning 6-1 at Old Trafford, the Manchester City supporters have enjoyed crowing about a massive derby victory, although Roberto Mancini and his team are doing their best to keep their feet off the ground.
The triumph over Manchester United has helped City establish a five-point gap at the top of the Premier League, with the bookmakers installing the Citizens as favourites to win the title although Edin Dzeko claims that the Red Devils are still favourites to retain their crown.
“My dream is to win the Premier League title,” admitted Dzeko. “After we won the FA Cup last season, this is our target. But there are still a lot of games to play.
“We’ve played 10 games and we have five more points than United, and for me they are still favourites for the title.
“We’re growing up every game, but United are United.
“Nine points ahead of Chelsea after 10 games is fantastic. Nobody expected that but nothing is finished. It’s not just between us and Man Utd.”
These words echo the sentiments of Mancini last week who suggested that Manchester United still have the edge at the moment, although most people would argue that City are the team to beat after that 6-1 triumph.
