If Manchester City maintain their current form in the Premier League, they will be crowned as champions by Easter, with Roberto Mancini’s side having opened up a five-point lead at the top of the table.
City have averaged over three and a half goals per game and part of the reason behind their prolific ways is the form of David Silva, with the Spaniard currently favourite to be the PFA Player of the Year following a string of impressive performances.
Silva has told The Sun that it is his dream to win the Premier League with City, claiming: “I am enjoying my best form ever – including my time with Valencia.
“I am the same person as last season but, as a footballer, I have matured a lot. I know the City style better and have adapted to all aspects of club life.
“My English is more fluent and this always helps in communicating with my team-mates. In my early days here, I suffered a lot of anxiety over this.”
He revealed that his manager is always looking for more from the Spanish international, saying: “Roberto Mancini insists I improve my performances even more and that’s my challenge. I am a winner. I dream of winning the Premier League.”
