Carlos Tevez has not landed the summer move away from Manchester City that he demanded and the player must now remain in England to fight for his place at Eastlands.

However, it appears as though the striker has had a troubled few months after Tevez confessed that a bout of depression saw him gain in weight due to binge eating, something which forced him to visit a clinic and address the issue.

Tevez has defended his public reputation as being a difficult person with unreasonable demands, telling The People: “I’m not the s**t that they say I am.

“I had a personal crisis this summer. I put on five or six kilos and had to check into a clinic. I was depressed and so I ate and ate.

“Only my family and friends know this. People can criticise me if I don’t play well, but they can’t say ‘He missed a penalty so the coach would be sacked.’ It’s the bad feeling towards me that I can’t stand.”

Hopefully, Tevez has recovered from his personal issues and will be back scoring goals for Manchester City and Argentina in the weeks and months to come.
