It is hard to see beyond the two Manchester clubs right now, although Sir Alex Ferguson has left no stone unturned when it comes to suggesting the possible teams that could win the Premier League title this season.

While the Scot stopped short of including Stoke and Aston Villa in his list of possibles, Tottenham will be flattered that they have been mentioned and the same goes for Arsenal who are still searching for their first Premier League win.

“I think you could say that five or six teams will be involved,” he told Sky Sports News HD.

“It’s always hard to win the league. It’s a league that if you look at it, in the south you have the London teams like Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea and then you have ourselves, Manchester City and Liverpool in the north.

“It’s a really, really difficult league to win.”

Even so, United have enjoyed a dream start and Ferguson will be delighted that his young players have stepped up to the plate so well in the absence of Javier Hernandez, Nemanja Vidic and Darren Fletcher.

“You have to try and build teams that will last for a few years,” he said.

“We have done that quite successfully over the years. This is another example of trusting the young players and giving them opportunities.”
