Samir Nasri has just one year left on his current contract at Arsenal FC and it appears as though a summer departure from the Emirates is imminent. However, will the Frenchman decide to move to Manchester United or Manchester City?
It appears that both clubs in the city want to land the midfielder’s signature, with Patrice Evra claiming that his compatriot should choose Old Trafford over Eastlands, especially if Nasri is hungry to win silverware rather than to earn the most money possible.
“I remember I made a little joke saying that he’s a prince now but if he wants to be the king then he has to join Man United,” Evra told the Sun. “But that’s the reality – and I’ve told him that. I’ve said: ‘If you want to win trophies, you have to come here.’
“In five years, I’ve won 12 trophies and I don’t know if I’d have won more than that with another club. So I just told him the truth.”
Arsene Wenger has been critical of Roberto Mancini discussing the possibility of signing Nasri and Evra’s comments will therefore not sit too well with the Arsenal manager who remains hopeful of keeping the player despite losing him on a free transfer at the end of next season.
