The X Factor is at the semi-final stage with just four acts left and the race to be crowned champion in 2011 is still wide open.

Last week saw the surprise elimination of early favourite Janet Devlin and this week Misha B is rated the most likely to leave at odds of 11/10 (Bwin). However, she may be worth opposing for two very good reasons. Firstly, she may well get a sympathy “bounce” in the voting, having been in the bottom two last week. Secondly, we feel the show’s bosses are unlikely to want Amelia Lily to make the final.

She was reinstated three weeks ago after Frankie Cocozza’s departure and many think it would be unfair if she was to win having effectively received a bye through to the latter stages. If she makes the final and puts in a superb performance the producers may not be able to prevent her from winning and that could embarrass the show and damage its credibility.

Just as importantly, there is a chance she would take some of the regional North-East vote away from Little Mix. The manufactured girl group features two lasses from that neck of the woods and given that the producers appear to want Tulisa’s group to win they would probably prefer to get rid of Amelia now. Her odds to leave are 6/4 (Betfred – £50 free bets) and that looks very tempting indeed.

The all-female foursome have received very favourable treatment from the show, prompting them to be nicknamed Little Fix in some quarters. They are now favourites to win at odds of 11/8 (Stan James – £150 free betting), although very little separates them from talented Scouser Marcus Collins at 13/8 (Ladbrokes).

Those two look nailed on to make the final and who wins may depend simply on which act performs better on the night. Either way, we expect Misha B to be there alongside them, albeit as a bit part player to the two favourites.
