A brace from Gareth Bale and a Rafael Van der Vaart goal helped Tottenham to yet another Premier League victory on Sunday, with Spurs now up to 5th in the Premier League table with a game in hand over their main title rivals.

Spurs were made to work hard for their 3-1 win over QPR, with the visitors coming back strongly in the second half after trailing 2-0 at half-time. It wasn’t until Bale’s 73rd minute stunner that the win was guaranteed for Harry Redknapp’s side, although the Welshman claims that the confidence is now growing with every game.

“It’s just good to get goals and the three points that lifts us into the top six,” Bale told Sky Sports One. “It was a great team performance.

“They were just starting to come on top and putting a bit of pressure on us and it was a very important goal,” he said about his second goal.

“The confidence is growing. We’ve been playing well and concentrating on our own football. Scoring goals is part of our game and we’ve been doing that.”

Scott Parker has continued to earn rave reviews this season following his switch from West Ham in the summer, with the midfielder enjoying his football at White Hart Lane.

“I think they came out in the second half and put us under a bit of pressure but overall we fully deserved the win,” Parker said. “We played some good football”.
