Emmanuel Adebayor has been apologetic ever since that infamous celebration two seasons ago where the then-Manchester City striker ran the length of the pitch to celebrate a goal in front of the Arsenal supporters.
However, while Adebayor wants to draw a line under the incident and focus on playing for Tottenham the Arsenal supporters at White Hart Lane on Sunday were in no mood for forgiveness, although it appears they overstepped the mark with some disgusting chants relating to the ambush of the Togo team bus last year.
Harry Redknapp certainly wasn’t impressed by what was said, saying: “How do you chant something like that? You can’t be right, mentally. There’s kids up there. How do you bring kids up to sing songs about the Busby Babes [and the Munich air disaster]?
“What’s that kid going to become? I dread to think. I don’t know what you can do but you can do something to the parents of those kids. It’s disgusting. It’s got no place in life.”
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger was also the subject of disgusting taunts from the Tottenham supporters and these chants echoed the ones that took place between Leeds and Manchester United supporters at a recent Carling Cup clash.
