With Kitty gone we are down to just six acts and any of them could feasibly still win this year’s X Factor.
The top five are almost inseparable in the betting, with Marcus Collins and the returning Amelia Lily at the head of the market at 7/2 (both Boylesports – £40 free betting). Janet Devlin, Craig Colton and Little Mix are all between 5/1 and 6/1 with Misha B the outsider at 14/1.
Misha has now been in the bottom two twice and despite being considered the best singer by some, she is the favourite to leave the show this week. She is a polished performer but perhaps this comes across as overconfidence and she looks good value to be the next act eliminated. Best odds of 7/4 (Coral – £30 free bets) is a big price that reflects the openness of the competition but we suspect that come Sunday morning it will look even bigger.
Although The X Factor can always provide a shock it seems likely that Janet or Little Mix will join Misha in the bottom two. Janet has failed to shine for several weeks now and appears to have lost some confidence in the face of the judges’ criticisms.
Tulisa’s girl band have been widely praised by judges, fans and fellow contestants, but last week saw them receive negative comments from Gary Barlow. Given the traditional poor showing of groups in general and girl groups in particular, anything other than a top performance is likely to see Little Mix in trouble.
Having been among the most consistent, if unspectacular, acts in the contest, Marcus and Craig appear to be secure. Likewise, Amelia should be ok having only returned to the show last week.
It would be a surprise to see any of these three in the bottom two and Misha certainly looks the most likely candidate for X Factor elimination.
